Seven of Ten: People I would like to sit down and talk to.

Today I am sharing ten of the many people I wish I could sit down and have a chat with. I am sticking with the ones who are still alive, but I haven't met. I am interested in people--all kinds of people--so narrowing it down to ten was not an easy task.

1. Nelson Mandela: I did a report over him my Sophomore year of high school and he is still high on the list of people I admire.
2. Anne Lamott: She tells great stories, and she is just enough of a mess to keep it real.
3. Diane Sawyer: I know she has some stories I'd like to hear.
4. Martin McDonagh: I just want to get inside that head for a bit.
5. Patty Griffin: I'd ask her to sing for me.
6. Elton John: There would definitely be singing involved.
7. Meryl Streep: I'd ask her how she makes acting look so easy.
8. Alice Walker: She can tell me anything she wants. I don't even need to talk.
9. Joan Benoit Samuelson: "Tell me all about winning the first women's Olympic marathon."
10. Dolly Parton: We'd drink tea and eventually I'd tell her how I performed Jolene with her on the 8-track in the living room when I was four.
